Firstly, the Jing Luo is carrier of the Qi and Xue (blood) throughout the entire body. It is the acupuncturist's skill that identifies the changes of these influences and their relative state of depletion and repletion at specific organs or locations throughout the body. The effect this imposes on the patient is reflected as the real presenting symptoms that the practitioner needs to identify and treat.

Ling Shu Ch 10:- "The major channels decide life and death. They are the dwelling of one hundred diseases, but also the harmonizer of hollowness (deficiency) and solidity (excess). One can not treat if they are not understood."

Secondly, this chapter is concerned with the interior/ exterior communication that the network provides. "They manage and nourish that which moves in the body, flow to the five Zang (viscera) internally and divide between the six Fu (bowels) externally."

Not only is there a communication between the interior Zang and the exterior Fu, but also a connection to the caves or acuhole (shue) that allow the practitioner to access all depths of the organism in applying their treatment.
