Something Old,
Something New
A recent research
breakthrough has discovered the signs of what is
termed 'genetic clocks'. This then, seemed a
perfect 'discovery' with which to juxtapose a much
older concept, also based on observation,
hypothesis and reckoning; the 'phenomenal' channel
of information known as the:
'Chinese
Clock'. (taken from 'Japanese Acupuncture - A
Clinical Guide' by Stephen Birch and Junko Ida.
Paradigm Press, 1998)
"Ling Shu 15 and
Nan Jing 1 describe the continuous circulation of
qi in these channels. Starting at CV-12, the qi
passes through the channels starting at the lung,
then passing through the channels of the large
intestine, stomach, spleen, heart, small intestine,
bladder, kidney, triple burner, gall bladder,
liver, and back to CV-12. The circuit also exhibits
the following biorhythm, where each channel has an
ebb and flow, peaking in two hour period, and
ebbing in the opposite two hour period."
