The Chinese Clock concept informs the practitioner of fluctuating biorhythmic cycles working through the Zang (solid) and Fu (hollow) organs. This knowledge can be advantageous in terms of mapping symptom appearance times. Subsequently treatment protocols can engage dysfunctional organs at optimum treatment times.

This concept now runs parallel with the above-mentioned 'genetic clock' hypothesis. T.C.M. and modern day medical research serve to confirm each others vastly contrasting approaches. It seems there are many paths up the mountainside and the objective is the same.
